Adopt A Highway Program

The Towns County Commissioner’s office is looking for groups to adopt a road in Towns County! According to Keep Our Mountains Beautiful, “The Georgia Department of Transportation spends about $17 million annually to clean up road side trash. Local Government spend hundreds of thousands to keep litter off 89,000 miles of locally maintained roads.” We need your help!! Any civic minded organization can adopt a stretch of a county road (1 mile minimum) if they agree to pick up litter along the road four times a year!! The Commissioner's office will provide free of charge orange vest for your protection as well as orange trash bags.  Filled orange bags may be taken to the landfill at no charge.

Please contact the Towns County Representative at the Commissioner's Office for an application. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!!!
